Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information J Speed Auto collects through our website at jspeedauto.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Site is owned and operated by Brannon Gilliland, doing business as J Speed Auto ("J Speed Auto," "JSA," "we," "us," or "our"), serving Memphis and the surrounding areas.

By using the Site or sending us your information, you agree to the practices described here. We keep things simple: we only collect what we need to get to your vehicle and do the work right, and we don't sell your information.

    1. Information You Give Us

Most of what we collect is information you hand to us directly, usually through our booking form or by texting, emailing, or calling us. That typically includes:

    • Your name

    • Your phone number

    • Your email address

    • Your vehicle's year, make, and model

    • The service you need

    • A description of what's going on with your car

    • The address where you'd like us to meet you

You're in control of what you share. If you'd rather not type certain details into the form, you can always text or call us instead at (901) 488-2413.

    2. Information About Your Vehicle

Working on a car means we learn things about it. Beyond the year, make, and model you give us up front, we may record your license plate, VIN, mileage, diagnostic trouble codes, the parts we install, and notes on what we found and what we recommend.

We keep this because it makes the next visit better. If you call us in eight months about a noise, we can look up what we did last time instead of starting from scratch. We treat your vehicle records as yours, and we don't share them with anyone outside the narrow situations described in Section 8.

    3. Your Service Location

We come to you, which means we need an address. For most of our customers that address is their home, and we treat it accordingly.

We use your service address to get to you, to confirm we cover your area, and to keep a record of where the work was performed. We don't publish it, we don't add it to a mailing list you didn't ask for, and we don't share it with anyone except a parts supplier or towing service when a job actually requires it, and then only with the part of the address they need.

If you'd rather not have work done at your home, you're welcome to meet us at your office or another location that works for both of us.

    4. Text Messages

Texting is the fastest way to reach us, and it's usually how we reach you. When you give us your phone number through the booking form or by texting us first, you're agreeing that we can text you about your appointment, including confirmations, arrival windows, questions about the job, approvals for additional work, and letting you know we're on the way.

These are service messages about work you asked for. We won't send you marketing texts unless you tell us you want them.

Reply STOP at any time and we'll stop texting you. Just know that if you opt out, we'll need to reach you by phone or email to confirm appointments, which is slower. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

    5. Photos of Your Vehicle

We take photos while we work. Some are practical: documenting a worn part before we replace it, showing you something you can't see from the driver's seat, or recording the condition of your vehicle when we arrived. Those are for the job and for our records.

We also like to show our work. Before we post a photo of your vehicle on our website, social media, or anywhere else public, we'll ask you first. If you say no, that's the end of it, and it won't affect your service in any way.

When we do share photos, we keep license plates out of frame or obscured, and we never include your name or address. If you gave us the okay before and changed your mind, text or email us and we'll take the photo down.

    6. Information Collected Automatically

Our Site is built and hosted on Squarespace, and like most websites, it collects some basic technical information automatically when you visit. This is handled through Squarespace's built-in analytics and cookies, and it can include things like:

    • Your device type, browser, and operating system

    • Your general location based on IP address

    • The pages you view and how long you stay

    • The site or link that referred you to us

We use this to understand how people find and use the Site so we can keep improving it. We don't use it to identify you personally. Squarespace processes this information as our hosting provider, and you can read more about how they handle it in the Squarespace Privacy Policy at squarespace.com/privacy.

    7. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device to help it work properly and to measure visits. Our Site uses the cookies that come standard with Squarespace, mainly for security and basic analytics, plus any set by our scheduling provider when you book an appointment.

You can control or turn off cookies through your browser settings. If you block them, the Site should still work, though booking may not behave as smoothly.

    8. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

    • Respond to your messages and booking requests

    • Confirm appointments and let you know when we're on the way

    • Diagnose your vehicle, quote the work, and get your approval before we proceed

    • Order the right parts for your specific vehicle

    • Keep service records so future visits go faster

    • Handle invoicing and payment

    • Follow up after a job and answer warranty questions

    • Improve the Site and our customer experience

    • Comply with the law and protect our rights, our property, and your safety

We only use your information for the reasons you contacted us and for running our business. We don't use it for unrelated purposes without telling you.

    9. We Don't Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Period.

We may share limited information in a few narrow situations:

    • Service providers. We use trusted tools to run our business, such as Squarespace for the website, our scheduling provider for appointments, and our payment processor for invoices. They only get what they need to do their job, and they're expected to keep it protected.

    • Parts suppliers. To order the correct part, we may need to give a supplier your vehicle's year, make, model, or VIN. We don't send them your name, address, or contact information.

    • Legal reasons. If the law requires it, or if we need to protect someone's safety, our rights, or our property, we may share information with authorities or advisors.

    • Business changes. If our business is ever sold or transferred, customer information may pass to the new owner as part of that change.

    10. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, and we rely on Squarespace's security protections for data handled through the Site. That said, no website or method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security. Please use good judgment about what you send us online, and call us if you need to share anything sensitive.

We never ask for your full payment card number by text or email. If you get a message claiming to be from us asking for that, it isn't us.

    11. How Long We Keep It

We hold on to your information for as long as we need it to respond to you, service your vehicle, honor any warranty on our work, keep proper business and tax records, and meet our legal obligations. Vehicle service records tend to stay with us longer than general inquiries, because they're useful to you on your next visit. When we no longer need something, we take steps to delete or securely dispose of it.

    12. Your Choices and Rights

You have control over your information. You can:

    • Ask us what personal information we have about you

    • Ask us for a copy of your vehicle's service records

    • Ask us to correct information that's wrong

    • Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it

    • Ask us to take down a photo of your vehicle

    • Tell us to stop texting or contacting you at any time

To make any of these requests, just email us at service@jspeedauto.com or text or call (901) 488-2413, and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws, and we'll honor those that apply to you.

    13. Children's Privacy

The Site is meant for adults arranging service for a vehicle. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

    14. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to other websites or tools, such as our scheduling provider, our payment processor, or our social media pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for how they handle your information. We'd encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.

    15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices or the law change. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll do our best to make that clear. Using the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

    16. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please reach out.

© 2026 J Speed Auto. All rights reserved.

  • Last updated: August 3, 2026

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") cover your use of the J Speed Auto website at jspeedauto.com (the "Site"), any information you send us through it, and the service work we perform for you. The Site is owned and operated by Brannon Gilliland, doing business as J Speed Auto ("J Speed Auto," "JSA," "we," "us," or "our"), serving Memphis and the surrounding areas.

By using the Site, booking an appointment, or having us work on your vehicle, you're agreeing to these Terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please let us know before we start.

    1. Who We Are

J Speed Auto is a mobile mechanic service. Instead of you bringing your car to a shop, we bring the shop to you, at your home, your office, or wherever you and your vehicle happen to be within our service area.

We handle brake service, tune-ups, diagnostics, fluid and oil changes, battery and starting system work, and other everyday maintenance and repair. If you're not sure whether something is in our wheelhouse, describe it when you book and we'll tell you straight.

    2. What This Site Does

The Site exists to tell you what we do and to make it easy to book us. The service descriptions and any guidance you read here are general. They aren't a diagnosis of your vehicle and they aren't a quote.

We can't tell you what's wrong with your car from a web page. Any real assessment happens when we're standing in front of the vehicle.

    3. Booking an Appointment

When you submit the form or send us a text, you're sending a request, not a locked-in appointment. Nothing is confirmed until we reply and confirm it with you directly.

Same-day slots are offered when we have them, but they aren't guaranteed. We'll give you an arrival window rather than an exact minute, because traffic, parts runs, and the job before yours all move around. If we're running behind, we'll text you.

Please give us accurate information about your vehicle and the problem. If we show up expecting a brake job and find something entirely different, we may not have the right parts or tools with us, and we may need to reschedule.

    4. Estimates, Approval, and Price Changes

Any price we give you before we see the vehicle is an estimate based on what you've told us. It's our honest best guess, not a fixed quote.

Cars hide things. Once we have a wheel off or a panel open, we sometimes find a seized bolt, a part that's worse than it looked, or a second problem underneath the first. When that happens, here's what we do: we stop, we tell you what we found, and we tell you what it will cost. We don't do additional work without your approval.

Your approval can be given by text, and a text approval counts as your authorization to proceed. If you'd rather not move forward, we'll reassemble what we can and charge only for the work completed and any diagnostic time.

If we can't reach you while we're on site, we'll pause the job and wait to hear from you.

    5. Where We Work on Your Vehicle

Because we come to you, the work happens on your property or a location you've chosen. That means a few things are on you:

    • The location needs to be safe, level, and legal to work in. We can't safely lift a vehicle on a steep driveway, soft ground, or an active roadway.

    • You need the right to have work done there. If you rent, share a lot, or live somewhere with an HOA or property management company that restricts vehicle repair, please confirm it's allowed before we drive out.

    • We need reasonable access to the vehicle, room to work around it, and space to park our own vehicle nearby.

    • The vehicle should be accessible and unobstructed at the time of your appointment.

If we arrive and the location isn't safe or workable, we'll tell you why and we'll reschedule rather than take a risk with your vehicle or our safety.

We're careful with your property, and we clean up after ourselves. That said, we aren't responsible for ordinary wear that comes with vehicle service in a residential setting, such as minor fluid spotting on a driveway or pavement.

    6. Parts and Warranty

We use quality parts and we'll tell you what we're installing.

Parts we supply carry whatever warranty the manufacturer provides, and we'll pass that along to you. Our labor is warranted for [warranty period] on the specific work performed, provided the vehicle has been used normally in the meantime.

If you ask us to install a part you bought yourself, we're usually happy to do it, but we can't warranty that part or the labor tied to it. If a customer-supplied part fails or turns out to be the wrong one, any return trip is billed as a new visit.

Our warranty doesn't cover problems unrelated to the work we did, damage from continued driving after a known issue, accident damage, or repairs performed by someone else after our visit.

    7. Payment

Payment is due when the work is finished, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing beforehand.

We accept [payment methods]. For jobs requiring special-order or high-cost parts, we may ask for a deposit to cover the parts before we order them. Deposits on parts already ordered are non-refundable if the parts can't be returned.

Unpaid balances may be subject to [late fee terms]. We'd much rather just get paid and keep working with you, so if something comes up, talk to us.

    8. Cancellations, Reschedules, and No-Shows

Plans change and we get it. We just ask for a heads-up.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please text or call us at least [notice window] before your appointment. That lets us offer the slot to someone else.

Because we drive to you, a no-show costs us the trip and the time. If we arrive and the vehicle isn't there, nobody's available, or the location can't be worked in, we may charge a trip fee of [trip fee amount]. If we've already ordered parts specific to your vehicle, those costs may also apply.

We'll extend you the same courtesy. If we have to reschedule on you, we'll tell you as soon as we know.

    9. This Isn't Roadside or Emergency Service

This matters, so please read it carefully. Our Site, booking form, and inbox are not monitored around the clock, and we are not an emergency or roadside assistance service.

If you're broken down on a highway, in an unsafe location, or in any situation that threatens your safety, call 911 or your roadside assistance provider. We don't perform towing, and we don't do repairs on active roadways or highway shoulders.

If your vehicle is unsafe to drive, please don't drive it to meet us. Tell us where it is and we'll figure out whether we can get to it.

    10. Text Messages

Texting is how we run our day. When you give us your number, you're agreeing that we can text you about your appointment, arrival times, questions about the job, and approvals for additional work.

These are service messages, not marketing. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, though it will slow down how quickly we can coordinate with you. Message and data rates may apply.

    11. Photos of Completed Work

We photograph our work for our records and, sometimes, to show what we can do. Before any photo of your vehicle goes public, on our website, social media, or anywhere else, we'll ask you first.

Saying no is completely fine and changes nothing about your service. When you say yes, we keep plates out of frame and never attach your name or address. Change your mind later? Text us and it comes down.

    12. Contacting Us and What You Send

When you use our booking form, text us, or email us, you agree to give us information that is accurate and that you're allowed to share. Please don't submit anything false, misleading, or that belongs to someone else.

You also confirm that you own the vehicle or have permission from the owner to authorize work on it. For how we handle the information you send, see our Privacy Policy.

    13. Using the Site the Right Way

You're welcome to browse the Site and contact us for your own legitimate purposes. You agree not to:

    • Use the Site in any way that breaks the law or these Terms.

    • Try to gain access to areas, systems, or data that aren't meant for you.

    • Interfere with the Site, introduce harmful code, or disrupt how it works for others.

    • Copy, scrape, or reuse our content, branding, or photos without our written permission.

    • Use the booking form to send spam, solicitations, or anything abusive.

We can suspend or block access to anyone who misuses the Site, without notice.

    14. Our Content Belongs to Us

The text, logo, images, layout, and other materials on the Site are owned by J Speed Auto or used with permission, and they're protected by intellectual property laws. You can view and share the Site for personal, non-commercial use, but you can't reproduce, sell, or build on our content without asking us first.

The J Speed Auto name and logo are ours. Please don't use them without our written okay.

    15. Links to Other Sites

The Site may link out to third-party websites or tools, such as our scheduling provider, payment processor, or social media. We share those links for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Visiting them is on you, and their terms apply once you leave ours.

    16. No Warranties About the Site

We provide the Site "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, secure, or free of viruses. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties about the Site, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

This section is about the website. The warranty that applies to the actual repair work we perform is described in Section 6.

    17. Limiting Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, J Speed Auto and Brannon Gilliland won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages connected to the Site or our services, even if we've been told such damages were possible. This includes things like lost time, lost wages, towing costs, rental vehicles, or missed appointments.

For anything related to the Site, our total liability will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).

For anything related to service work we performed, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us for that job.

Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Tennessee law.

    18. Indemnification

You agree to cover and hold harmless J Speed Auto and Brannon Gilliland from any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, your authorizing work on a vehicle you don't have the right to authorize, or your violation of someone else's rights.

    19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as our business or the law changes. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If you keep using the Site or booking with us after changes go up, that means you accept the updated Terms. It's a good idea to check back now and then.

    20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute connected to the Site, these Terms, or our services will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Shelby County, Tennessee, and you agree to that jurisdiction.

    21. If Part of This Is Unenforceable

If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect. The unenforceable part will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it valid while keeping its original intent.

    22. Get in Touch

Questions about these Terms? We're happy to help.
